E.C.F.A. or the Egyptian Canadian Friendship Association established
in 1990 to serve the Egyptian and the Arab nation all around Canada.
in this site we will represent and idea of the association, some of
the publication that we carry and other services we represent to our
members. Why was the Association founded?
Because as the Egyptian community grew to over 60,000, their needs
and expectations warranted a more developed infrastructure. First
an idea in 1989, five founding members actualized the idea into an
active and important community organization. The organization has
functioned as a forum exposing the Egyptian community’s rich
culture and background, academic and professional achievements, as
well as other accomplishments attained by our members. Our
Principles:
The Egyptian Canadian Friendship Association aspires to remain loyal
to our motherland, Egypt, while at the same time extending loyalty
and respect to our new homeland, Canada. The Association aspires to
inform our members of both their individual rights and obligations
to their new homeland. It is important our members are conscientious
of their rights and duties as model, Canadian citizens. The Association
is a strong believer in equality and against any form of discrimination.
Major Achievements:
The E.C.F.A. has succeeded in forming a bridge between the Egyptian
community and other ethnic groups through an exchange of services
and extensive participation in cultural/social events.
The E.C.F.A. has succeeded in aiding a substantial number of newly
arrived immigrants start their lives in Canada, accelerating their
integration into Quebec and Canadian society
The E.C.F.A. has been successfully publishing an annual directory
of services, and two monthly newspapers, El-Masri and El Mahroussa,
which have a circulation of 12,000 each and are distributed free
of charge
