E.C.F.A. or the Egyptian Canadian Friendship Association established in 1990 to serve the Egyptian and the Arab nation all around Canada. in this site we will represent and idea of the association, some of the publication that we carry and other services we represent to our members.

Why was the Association founded?
Because as the Egyptian community grew to over 60,000, their needs and expectations warranted a more developed infrastructure. First an idea in 1989, five founding members actualized the idea into an active and important community organization. The organization has functioned as a forum exposing the Egyptian community’s rich culture and background, academic and professional achievements, as well as other accomplishments attained by our members.

Our Principles:
The Egyptian Canadian Friendship Association aspires to remain loyal to our motherland, Egypt, while at the same time extending loyalty and respect to our new homeland, Canada. The Association aspires to inform our members of both their individual rights and obligations to their new homeland. It is important our members are conscientious of their rights and duties as model, Canadian citizens. The Association is a strong believer in equality and against any form of discrimination.

Major Achievements:
The E.C.F.A. has succeeded in forming a bridge between the Egyptian community and other ethnic groups through an exchange of services and extensive participation in cultural/social events.

The E.C.F.A. has succeeded in aiding a substantial number of newly arrived immigrants start their lives in Canada, accelerating their integration into Quebec and Canadian society

The E.C.F.A. has been successfully publishing an annual directory of services, and two monthly newspapers, El-Masri and El Mahroussa, which have a circulation of 12,000 each and are distributed free of charge

Letters of thanks from other organizations for supporting their fund-raising campaigns (The Missing Children’s Network, Concordia University, Montreal Children’s Hospital).Awards given to President

1-The Commemorative medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada, from the Queen of England and the Governor General of Canada.

2-Canadian Citizenship Award, from the Minister of Multiculturalism.

3-Award recognizing participation in the Citizen Forum on Canada’s Future.

Membership Fees
Single: $30.00 per year or $50.00 for two years.
Family: $60.00 per year or $100.00 for two years.
