El Masri, a successful Arabic-language newspaper founded in 1993, and currently boasts a circulation of 12,000 copies, distributed free. It is considered the most widely circulated Arabic language newspaper in Quebec. It earned its reputation from popular editorial topics, informative articles, and practical information. It has built a bridge between Canadian-Egyptians and their native land, informing them of current news from the Middle East, while simultaneously informing them of current Canadian events.
El Masri is reputed for being an honest, objective, and non-discriminatory publication. It is recognized by all levels of the Canadian government: municipal, provincial, and federal.

El Masri is recognized by all Egyptian authorities serving in Canada. It is approved by Genesis Canada as a community newspaper. El Masri is listed in the Government of Canada Media Guide, Quebec Multicultural Media, Card Advertising Services, and Ethnic Media and Marketing.
